It has been a while since we’ve posted anything but one thing that I think all members need to know is how to find our AllstarLink Dashboard.
This is the place where you can see both of our AllstarLink nodes and their connection status. These nodes are 468100 (146.700 MHz) and 468101 (443.300 MHz, currently accessible only through AmateurWire 90032 or from another AllstarLink node).
One thing to note, there are other nodes listed, 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999.
What are these nodes about? One of the features of having an AllstarLink node is the ability to have private nodes. These are hidden nodes that in the background connect to other systems. For example…
1. 1996 – W5DEL Private node to TGIF DMR Talk Group 51405 Del City, OK
2. 1997 – W5DEL Private node to Amateur Wire 90031 Del City, OK
3. 1998 – W5DEL Private node to Amateur Wire 90032 Del City, OK
4. 1999 – W5DEL Private node to Hams Over IP 15062 Del City, OK
These nodes behind the scenes give you access from AmateurWire, Hams Over IP, and TGIF talk group 51405.
These are connected by default as…
1996 146.700 MHz Repeater to TGIF Talk Group 51405
1997 146.700 MHz Repeater to Amateur Wire extension 90031
1998 443.300 MHz Repeater to Amateur Wire extension 90032
1999 146.700 MHz Repeater to Hams Over IP extension 15062
We have these nodes setup where a script runs on boot up that automatically connects them in this manner. The user can always connect and disconnect to other nodes but these stay connected in the background.
Quick review on how to connect these nodes is to follow these steps
- Key your radio and give your call sign first and unkey.
- Key your radio and enter the DTMF tone as *3_ _ _ _ _ _ (Remote AllstarLink node number found here). Then unkey and wait for the connect announcement.
- After the announcement, listen for 30 seconds to ensure you are not connecting in the middle of a remote QSO.
To disconnect, follow these steps.
- Key your radio and enter the DTMF tones as *1_ _ _ _ _ _ (Remote AllstarLink node number found here). Then unkey and wait for disconnect announcement.
- Once disconnect announcement is heard, key back up and give your call sign and clear.
